November update

Well, it's been awhile since my last message, so time to keep you up-to-date with my project.
As planned, in July, mom and I went to Israel for three weeks. Unexpectedly, I absolutely fell in love with this totally crazy country! I stepped off the plane at Ben Gourion and the first sign I saw was "Welcome to Israel" and it felt like I was coming home...amazing.

We did so many things together over the three weeks, it would be difficult to describe everything here and I can only hope that one day, you too will go there and discover a vital, dynamic, warm in every sense of the word, on the edge place and love it the way I did.

More à propos to my project, when in Tel Aviv, I went to visit the volunteer organisation I'm using for my South Africa and Israel projects and having spent some time talking with them, have changed my project just a bit. I am still going to South Africa, that's set in stone. However, I was advised not to do the long term Hai Bar project for several valid reasons so the way the project stands now is that I will be on Kibbutz Lotan for 6 weeks (and will come back quite the environmental specialist as I will learn loads about sustainable energies, eco-friendly living and many other things which I'm very excited about) and 1 week on the Coral Reefs in Eilat.

From there, I will proceed to Jerusalem where I will be signing up for their summer ulpan (hebrew course), an intensive 5h per day course for 5 weeks.

All my projects are now paid for, my shots are taken care of, I have my flights, travel insurance, so everything is pretty much taken care of... just need to pack the bag and that will be a chore indeed, trying to figure out absolutely everything I will need and not forget the essentials...

Only 2 more months to go;-)
